Below is your weekly dose of 4 Thought Friday, a short list of idea’s, thoughts, and experiments from a few members of the Mako Team. Enjoy!

Kyle’s Including:

Ben Bergeron says “Win the Morning, Win the Day.” I have a strict morning routine, but like many of you, I have that first 15 minutes of waking up that either wins my morning or blah. To ensure I win my morning every time, I have been experimenting with push-ups. The first thing I do when my alarm goes off is I roll out of bed and do 30 push-ups. I found by doing this, my morning sludge goes away instantly. Next week I plan to do 40 push-ups and will add 10 each week until I can perform 100 unbroken.

I challenge you to try 10-20 push-ups right when you wake up for a week straight. You will feel more energized and ready to tackle the day. Win the Morning, Win the Day!

Brandon’s Improving:

Staying on task with my goals by using the 90x Goal Planner. What I like about this planner, is it puts your goals in front of you every day. You first write your top 5 goals, then every day you focus on doing one thing to move you closer to your goal. It’s an excellent way to stay conscious of what you are doing in the present to create your future. It also keeps you honest about how much that goal means to you. If you go weeks without ever doing something significant to move the needle, that goal probably isn’t that important to you.

Kevin’s Drinking:

This Week Coach Kyle and I went over to Everwell for a Greens smoothie class (more on this in the future) and we both learned a lot! I think most of us are deficient in getting or daily fruit/vegetable intake and there’s no better way to make up for that than with a smoothie packed full of nutrient-dense foods. My challenge this week is to add a greens smoothie every day for one week.

Here’s a quick recipe that I use (there’s plenty out there to choose from, so find something that suits your needs!):

Two BIG hands full of spinach
1-1.5 cups of frozen mixed berries
1 banana
1 cup water
Driven Whey Protein
*you can add a tablespoon or two of high-quality nut butter for your fats!
*add ice if you want it a little colder

This is super simple and really tasty. It helps to have a good blender. I personally just have a ninja blender and it gets the job done! Post your smoothies on social media and make sure to tag me!

Seth’s Enjoying:

This week I have been on vacation with the family, we are in Indiana for my sister’s wedding. I have been enjoying spending time with family, a lot of times it can be hectic and chaotic, but lately, I’ve been reminded that time can be short and to cherish every memory. We have been having a great time playing with Wyatt and watching him destroy my dad’s house. Time spent with your friends and family is priceless!
